The adult Bible Study meets on Sunday Mornings at 9:00 am before the Celebration Service. Every author has a reason for writing what he/she writes. The authors of the Bible are no different. The scriptures are clear. The Holy Spirit is the author of the Bible, but He did not dictate the words. Each author was "carried away" by the Holy Spirit and they wrote what the LORD wanted them to write, but they wrote in their own style and they each had a set of points that they wanted to convey. God was able to use these amazing servants to communicate exactly what He wanted communicated, all the while allowing each personality and passion to shine through. As such, each book is dynamic and special. We are exploring the argument that each author was making in order to understand the message to the audience. This class is ongoing and is open to all. Stephen Worley teaches this study on Wednesday nights in the auditorium. He leads the group verse by verse through books of the Bible. The focus is on what the author was trying to communicate to his readers, with special emphasis on applying the truths of the Scriptures to daily life. Recent studies included the Gospel of John and the book of James in the New Testament and the Prophets Jeremiah and Daniel in the Old Testament.
